CoreAcu is a holistic healthcare office in Boise, Idaho, offering Five Element acupuncture and massage therapy for individuals taking charge of their own health and well-being.
I have been licensed for massage therapy since 1995 and an acupuncturist since 2009. I practiced in Seattle Washington, and now currently have an office in downtown Boise, Idaho. My specialty for bodywork revolves around Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory along with therapeutic and sports massage therapy.
My path into bodywork manifested from a severe car accident which resulted in significant whiplash and soft tissue injuries along with malaise and depression. I received months of rehab and massage therapy through a gifted physical therapist. I started to feel better through stretching and slowly building my core with resistance training and walking. After many months of hard work and pain I started to feel stronger and more confident in my body without the need for medications.
During this time in the late 90's I became a Seattle Firefighter. I retired with 23 years experience and was an engineer/driver and emergency medical technician. I also was a CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) or PEER support team member with extensive experience and training in firefighter psychological and emotional first aid due to continuous post-traumatic stress injuries. I became a member of this team because of personal experience with these types of trauma.
My passion and calling to help others alleviate their physical and emotional pain has given me concrete direction. This philosophy comes from a viewpoint of curiosity with each individual client in order to promote balance in the system. An important goal daily is building a foundation of trust by providing a safe and inviting space and attitude to promote relaxation and healing.
